Poster competition is open to all surgeons, master students, medical officers as well medical students (whom MUST be a PSS participant). Work submitted may be from any surgical specialty and must be the author’s original work that is previously unpublished.
Abstract Submission
Abstracts are to be submitted via email to pssabstract2024@gmail.com before 28th June 2024. Maximum word count is 250 words, excluding title, author’s name and institution. Late submissions will not be entertained.
All abstracts must include the following format:
– Introduction
– Objective
– Methods
– Results
– Discussion
– Conclusion
Abstracts will be selected for e-Posters which will be displayed during the symposium. Successful submissions will be informed via email.
For PSS 2024 poster competition, it will be divided into 2 categories (Surgeons‘ Category and Master Students/Medical Officers/Medical Students’ Category). All abstract submissions will be assessed by a panel of experts from the PSS 2024 Scientific Sub-Committee. Top 10 shortlisted participants for each category will be notified via email and will need to prepare an e-poster (the instructions will be in the email for the shortlisted participants) to be displayed at the symposium for an oral presentation to a panel of judges.
Prizes will be awarded to the best posters which will be announced during the closing ceremony.
Surgeons’ Category:
– 1st Prize: RM1,000
– 2nd Prize: RM750
– 3rd Prize: RM500
Master Students/Medical Officers/Medical Students’ Category:
– 1st Prize: RM1,000
– 2nd Prize: RM750
– 3rd Prize: RM500
The decision of the Scientific Sub-Committee is final. The committee reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition or its regulations at any time.
